What it is
The TP-Link Archer MR200 is a dual-band 4G LTE router that connects to mobile networks via a built-in SIM card slot — no fixed broadband line needed. It broadcasts on both 2.4 GHz (up to 300 Mbps) and 5 GHz (up to 433 Mbps) using Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), with four Fast Ethernet LAN ports for wired devices.
Who it's for
This suits businesses, site offices, or temporary installations where a fixed-line connection isn't available or isn't reliable. It's also a practical failover option — if your main connection drops, the MR200 keeps things running over 4G. Schools, construction sites, and small offices are common use cases.
Why it's good
Supports 3G and 4G LTE across a wide range of bands, so it works with most Irish mobile networks. The dual-band Wi-Fi reduces congestion — put bandwidth-heavy devices on 5 GHz and leave 2.4 GHz for general use. Guest Wi-Fi, QoS, VPN support (PPTP, L2TP, IPSec), MAC filtering, and SPI firewall are all included. Setup is straightforward via the web interface or WPS button.
When to choose it
Choose the Archer MR200 when you need mobile broadband shared across multiple devices and wired ports matter as much as wireless. If your site has no fixed line or you need a cost-effective backup connection, this covers it cleanly at under €110 ex VAT. For fibre-based setups or multi-site deployments, talk to us about alternatives.
