This is a StarTech.com 10/100 Mbps multimode fiber media converter with SC connectors, designed for connecting traditional copper Ethernet networks to fiber-optic links up to 2 km long.
Who it's for
Intended for network environments requiring media conversion between twisted pair and fiber optics, especially where multimode fiber and SC connectors are used to extend network reach within buildings or campuses.
Why it's good
It supports 10/100 Mbps speeds with full and half duplex modes, auto MDI/MDI-X, and WDM is not supported. The SC fiber connector supports multimode fiber over distances up to 2 km, providing reliable network extension.
When to choose it
Choose this converter when you need to bridge copper Ethernet devices to a multimode fiber network with SC connections, within a 2 km range. Not suitable if higher speeds or single-mode fiber are required.
