What it is
The CyberPower OR600ERM1U is a 600VA / 360W line-interactive UPS in a 1U rackmount form factor. It delivers pure sine wave output, automatic voltage regulation (AVR), and 6 IEC C13 outlets — all in a slim metal chassis with an LCD display.
Who it's for
IT managers and installers who need reliable power protection for small network racks, server closets, or comms cabinets. It's a solid choice for protecting switches, routers, NAS devices, and similar 1U or small rack equipment where uptime matters.
Why it's good
AVR corrects voltage fluctuations without switching to battery — so your equipment stays protected without draining backup runtime unnecessarily. Pure sine wave output means sensitive electronics get clean power, not a choppy approximation. The 4 ms transfer time is fast enough for most rack hardware. You also get surge protection across network, DSL, and telephone lines, plus USB and serial connectivity for software-based UPS management. The hot-swap battery means you can replace the VRLA battery without powering down your rack.
When to choose it
This unit makes sense when you need a 1U UPS that fits neatly into an existing rack and covers a light to moderate load — switches, a firewall, a small NAS. Backup runtime is 13 minutes at half load and 4 minutes at full load, so it's designed to bridge short outages and allow for a clean shutdown, not extended operation. If your load is heavier or you need longer runtime, step up to a higher-capacity model.
